Wesley Crusher is on our side

The actor who played the intolerable Wesley Crusher character from Star Trek TNG - Wil Wheaton in real life - these days blogs about geek stuff. Lately he's been pretty upset about two things: global warming deniers and - far more heatedly - the reaction of politicians and the media in Boston's Aqua Teen Hunger Force guerrilla marketing debacle.

To be honest, the Boston debacle was the funniest goddamn media scare that's happened in a very long time, and those two guys became my new heroes for calling a press conference and refusing to field questions on anything except 1970s hairstyles.

you may think it was funny, but over here in boston, not so much. the whole mooninite discovery thing totally pre-empted Passions. all of it! i missed some hot ethan-and-theresa-finally-getting-together (after like 6 years!) action because of this. i don't care who is to blame- all of the various ass-clowns involved belong in the ninth level of hell (the one where satan is half-frozen and munching on cassius, et al)for this.

ha ha. that's what you get for living in boston. enjoy your founding father memorials.

oh chris, you make it sound like i actually want to live in this pathetic little burb (which is charmingly, and inexplicably, referred to as a city). but whatever, chicagoans, enjoy your -20 degree winter.

that might sting for chris, but not for me. i'll take chicago, and i'll take -20 too. feeling the moisture freeze in your nostrils is one of the most invigorating experiences out there.

Personally, I like having my beard freeze in less than a block.

one thing you have to give to the east coast, it teaches people to refine their condescension to an artistic degree. compare ariel's comments to the neo-hunter gatherer wit displayed by the likes of me, jake, and patrick.
